Apple Picking October 2009

On October 4th, the weather was getting cooler and we decided to take the boys apple picking at Maskers Farm in Warwick, NY. It seemed the rest of Manhattan, NJ, Long Island and Southern CT had the same idea. Though the orchard - at times - felt like Times Square at rush hour, we were able to find a spot away from the crowds and enjoy the beautiful autumn day. We were fortunate that Uncle Pete and Aunt Heidi made the journey as well since they helped us out with the boys’ nap times and feedings on-the-go. The photos are looking a bit over-exposed, but there are some great ones of the boys surrounded by apples. Enjoy!

The Kendall Family Reunion and Lobster Bake took place the second week of August. Birch and Cormac were introduced to their very large extended family at that time. Then it was off to Beaver Island for an absolutely perfect week of Maine summer weather. Above you see the boys enjoying a nap on the porch in the bird cage. A pretty weak set of Fire Island photos. The boys had their first ferry ride, but did we capture that for posterity? Nope. It was a very hot weekend, so, as you'll see, we spent most of the time inside, in front of fans. Above is a photo of Birch....click on the picture to see more.

Our Summer Vacations: Cape Cod July 2009

It may already be October, but in twin-land we are a little bit behind. So, for us, it's just about time for a recap of the summer!
Though it was sometimes tough, we were determined to get mobile and stay mobile as soon as the boys were ready to hit the road. So on July 5th, about a month after Cormac and Birch came home from the hospital, we headed to Cape Cod for a week's vacation. As Matt pointed out, though, it was more an extended marathon feeding session than a vacation. We did fit in a couple of trips to the beach in the late afternoon; had our first public dining experience; and also managed a walk along Chatham's Main Street. Not bad at all.
